Yoga and Meditation

Kari teaches a variety of classes in the East Bay, calling The Green Yogi Berkeley her studio home.  Her extensive experience in Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Forrest Yoga, along with insight meditation, inform her offerings to the Bay Area community and beyond.

Yin Yoga Restore the body and harness the mind with Yin Yoga. A beautiful complement to more active styles of yoga, Yin Yoga lets the body's deep layers of connective tissue begin to unwind through a sequence of passively held floor-postures. Sequences are designed to stimulate the body’s meridian system which brings balance to the nervous system. Yin Yoga allows us to take shape, stay for awhile, and be present. Leave class with a stronger practice of mindfulness and a brightened awareness of body, heart and mind.

Yang Yoga Find a deeper connection to your strength and flexibility. This yang practice has a strong focus on breathing to create vitality and awareness in the body, core strength to build heat and stability in the practice, and flexibility to explore the body's potential for increased mobility and ease. Options within each pose help each person find a practice that fits their body and unique needs

Retreats, Workshops, and Trainings

Kari offers workshops throughout the year, focusing on mindful awareness and relaxation through contemplative practices such as, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. These 2-3 hour experiences are often paired with Craniosacral work and meditation.

Kari offers retreats to the beautiful tropical locations, so you can step away from regular life into the beauty and relaxation of remote tropical lands. Kari also offers domestic retreats to some of the natural wonders of California.

Kari was also a faculty member of Cat Kabira's Yoga and Energetics Teacher Training from 2010-2016, ushering students through their teacher training journeys.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a highly relaxing form of bodywork. Through an assessment of the craniosacral system, areas of restriction are located and addressed with light hands-on bodywork. CST is an excellent complement to the yoga practice as it helps the yogi develop a deeper awareness of how they carry tension. This modality can also be very beneficial for those with daily stress or for individuals battling a uniquely stressful time. Practitioners learn to drop into a more rested state. Kari has completed CST trainings with both the Upledger Institute and Hugh Milne and continues to augment her learnings with trainings each year.
